With a KVM console, multiple computers or servers within one network can be controlled from one central point. This can be done with a keyboard, video monitor and mouse combination.
Connecting a KVM console
Computers and servers are connected to a KVM console via VGA or PS/2 connections. Audio or USB equipment can also be connected to the newer KVM consoles. The KVM console fits in a standard size patch cabinet or server cabinet and due to its handy dimensions and rail system, KVM consoles will not take up more space than 1 Unit.

Met een KVM console kunnen meerdere computers of servers binnen één netwerk worden bestuurd vanuit één centraal punt. Dit kan gebeuren met een keyboard, video-monitor en muis combinatie.
Een KVM console aansluiten
Op een KVM-console worden computers en servers aangesloten door middel van VGA of PS/2 aansluitingen. Op de nieuwere KVM consoles kan ook audio of USB apparatuur worden aangesloten. De KVM console past in een standaard formaat patchkast of serverkast en door zijn handige afmetingen en railsysteem, zullen KVM consoles niet meer ruimte innemen dan 1 Unit.
